Eighty years ago, farming was part of our beginning. In 2026, it seems rather fitting that it should be part of something new.
Chatteris Working Men’s Club was founded in 1946, with strong roots in the local farming community. As we mark our 80th year, we’re remembering where we came from while continuing to look forward.
And that makes one of the newest additions heading for our bar feel particularly appropriate.
Hawkstone is coming to CWMC — and we’ll be the only place in Chatteris where you can find it.
Hawkstone has farming at the heart of its own story. The beer began with barley grown on Jeremy Clarkson’s farm, while today Hawkstone is brewed in Britain using premium ingredients sourced from British farms.
Supporting British farming isn’t simply part of the advertising. It’s part of the philosophy behind the beer.
There’s something rather fitting about that.
A club with farming roots. A beer born from farming. Eighty years apart, they meet at the bar.
Hawkstone’s arrival will form part of a much wider refresh of the drinks available at CWMC following our new arrangement with Batemans Brewery. There are plenty more new names heading for the bar — and we’ll be introducing those very soon.
But first, we thought this one deserved an introduction of its own.
