Following discussions at the AGM 2026, we wanted to share a clear and friendly summary of the key points around Junior Membership.
👥 Are Junior Memberships Still Available?
Yes—they absolutely are!
Although only one junior membership was taken out in 2025, it remains available to eligible members. The club is committed to making its club welcoming to juniors now and in the future.
📝 Application Issue Raised
A member reported that an application for their child’s Junior Membership was refused by staff, as the till system didn’t appear to support it.
The committee:
- Were not previously aware of this issue
- Confirmed that Junior Memberships are still available
- They have looked into the query and addressing it
📬 Missing Letter
A member mentioned sending a letter with application form to the committee in July 2025 via the post box.
Unfortunately:
- The letter was not received
- Due to committee changes, it hasn’t been possible to trace it
To help avoid similar issues:
- Membership information has been updated on the website
- Staff have been fully informed of current policies
🎂 Age Range Clarified
The committee confirmed:
👉 Junior Membership is for applicants aged 16 and 17
🎱 Can Junior Members Play Bingo?
This remains unchanged.
UK law does not allow anyone under 18 to take part in bingo, and this is something the club must adhere to.
